Quantity Surveyor – REF 01977AL

Headcount Engineering is now seeking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work in the UK- Midlands  / East Anglia and with some site visits to Dublin head office.

 

Prepare cost analysis based on the engineering estimates, materials required, and
labour involved.

Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for
construction projects, which involves liaising with client, engineers and

subcontractors.

Review tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
Evaluate variations from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate,
negotiate with the contractors.

Control the project budget in line with predetermined expenditure.
Monitor and keep track of project progress and are responsible for the measurement
and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim
payments and the final account.
Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered.
Carrying out feasibility studies as required
Risk analysis evaluations.
Advising on legal issues and representing clients in disputes.
Drawing up contracts with vendors.
Negotiating the cost of projects.

 

Experience

Quantity Surveying or Engineering based commercial qualification or other related
discipline.
Experience of at least 5 years.
A strong technical background in contracting and a proven ability to deal with
contractor variations and client final accounts.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
Previous experience on large scale projects.
Understanding & knowledge of efficient energy centre installations and delivery of
same to handover.
An ability to manage and deliver energy services to public and private sector
customers technologies.
