Overall Purpose of Job:

Based within the Engineering/Maintenance department the Project Engineer will be responsible for project management of projects across three Norbrook sites in Newry. The candidate must be technically strong and have the ability to take a project from start to finish. Familiarity with HAZOPs, ATEX assessments & DSEAR is essential.

Main Activities/Tasks

  • Provide weekly updates on status of projects currently managing in line with Norbrook project reporting structures.

  • Progress each project from concept and scope definition, through design phase and sign off with all appropriate parties, procurement and budget management, resource management and key milestones deliverables.

  • Ensure that all project documentation is in place prior to project start and meets quality standards for a pharmaceutical environment (Should be auditable standard)– Concept document, Technical Change Control, URS for any key equipment, P&ID diagrams, FDS etc.

  • Scope out electrical, mechanical, electronic, plumbing and any other requirements on new builds and new projects – develop bill of materials required, source quotations and specifications and develop project costing.

  • Ensure safety excellence on all responsible projects, appoint CDM co-ordinator and principle designer where applicable – develop induction where appropriate, ensure correct PPE worn by all project staff, track key safety metrics on each project and drive Safety excellence.

  • Main point of contact on responsible projects for all trades and co-ordination between contractors and in-house trades for installation of the project.

  • Communicate effectively between all project stakeholders and ensure at least monthly updates on progress, risks and any changes to project scope, timelines or budget. Communicate any changes to all contractors or system designers in a change control manner.

  • Develop preventative maintenance routines for new equipment and facilities specific to plant performance records and manufacturers recommendations.

  • Ensure documentation at all times during the project reflects the current status on the build. Complete set of drawings are handed over to Validation and Production on completion of project to include as installed P&ID drawings, GA drawings, Electrical and Plumbing drawings, IT and Electronics hard ware specifications and drawings here applicable, HazOp and Risk Assessments where applicable, Safety documentation, Operating Manuals and service manuals and any other relevant documentation required for the safe operation and maintenance of the facility or equipment.

  • Complete handover of project upon completion

  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Engineering team
